APA’s Apollo tyres will be launched on Friday from Cape Canaveral, Florida, and will carry the company’s newest rocket engine, a new version of the company, APA President and Chief Executive Officer Ken Hahn said on a conference call on Tuesday.

The new engine will have a “major boost” to the company after the previous engine’s performance was “unreliable and unreliable”, he said.

“We are going to launch on Thursday with our first rocket engine from Cape, Florida,” he said in the call with analysts and media.

“It is a significant boost to our performance and capability.

That will give us an opportunity to do more than just launch rockets from Cape.”

He added that the company was looking at launching at least a dozen more engines over the next two to three years.

The APA rockets, the company announced in March, will use the new Apollo rocket engines that are designed for space exploration.

Apollo, founded in 1973 by former US President Richard Nixon, aims to launch the first crewed mission to the moon in 2033.

Hahn, the chief executive of the world’s largest tyre maker, said he would work closely with the aerospace industry to “build a sustainable, low-cost supply chain”.

He said APA was confident that the launch would go ahead, saying that it would be a “good day for the tyre industry”.APA’s current engine, which has a fuel-injected solid-rocket motor, is used in the Saturn V rocket that is the most powerful rocket in the US and is expected to provide the first solid-fueled vehicle to travel to Mars.

“The engines that we have in the current Apollo system are extremely reliable, so they can fly for many years,” Hahn told analysts and reporters on Tuesday, according to APA.

“They are not really as reliable as we would like, but that is a different story.”

Hahn said that APA had been “pretty quiet” about the future of the Apollo program in the wake of the USSpaceX accident on March 3.

“What we want to do is build a sustainable supply chain and the current supply chain, it is not sustainable, and I think we will have to change our supply chain,” he added.

“So we are trying to develop a sustainable business model for the future, and we will do it as a one-stop shop, so it will be an integrated company, not a separate company.”Reuters
